One Forty Fiction is dedicated to microfiction with a maximum of 140 characters with spaces and punctuation included. Anything over that hard limit will be rejected. Other than that requirement, have at it!
We always welcome stories from master craftspeople, journeymen, dilettantes, and amateurs—just make sure it's a good story.
Stories have beginnings, middles, ends, and characters wanting things. We don't publish poetry, or aphorisms, or philosophical meanderings. We publish stories.
And we're interested in reading yours.
A word of warning: We've been overwhelmed in the past with stories related to suicide. Besides wondering about the cultural implications of this uptick, we're also kind of tired of reading them. If your story involves the subject of suicide, please consider submitting it to a different publication.
